Dual-Location Dental SEO Success in Melbourne

At our agency, we never treat a client’s website as just another project. We treat it as our own. This case study reflects that philosophy in action.
Springvale & Richmond Dental Group approached us with a clear objective: increase online visibility, generate more patient enquiries, and build a consistent Google presence across both of their Melbourne locations.
On the surface, the task seemed straightforward.
In reality, it was strategically complex.
The business operated under a single domain, rsdentalgroup.com.au, while serving two distinct suburbs: Springvale and Richmond. Each location carried its own identity, competitive landscape, and search behaviour. Yet both had to perform strongly under a single website.
One domain.
Two clinic names.
Two competitive local markets.
Many agencies would recommend splitting the brand into two separate websites with independent SEO campaigns. We took a different path.
The Strategic Challenge
Google requires structural clarity. When a single website represents two differently branded clinics across separate suburbs, authority dilutes quickly without precise planning.
Our objective was not simply to rank keywords. It was to build two strong local digital presences while preserving consolidated domain authority.
Springvale and Richmond have distinct keyword demand, competition levels, and patient intent patterns. Treating them as the same markets would have limited performance across both. Precision was essential.
How We Approached It
We began by understanding the business commercially. Service offerings, local competitors, and suburb-specific search behaviour were analysed independently. SEO must align with how patients actually search and decide, not be mechanically applied.
We then developed separate keyword strategies for each suburb. Location-specific service pages were built to capture high-intent searches that drive appointment bookings. At the same time, we executed a broader content strategy through blog articles to strengthen domain authority and expand visibility across Australia.
The turning point was structural engineering.
Instead of splitting domains, we restructured the website using dedicated subfolders for each suburb. Each location received:
• Localised service pages
• Custom contact and appointment pages
• Suburb-specific metadata
• Clear internal linking architecture
In effect, we built two local SEO engines under one domain.
Technical foundations were strengthened. Errors were resolved. Content was refined. Conversion tracking was implemented across calls, forms, and appointment actions. Every meaningful interaction became measurable.
The Results
In February 2024, visibility was limited:
• 2 keywords in Top 3
• 3 keywords in positions 4–10
• 97 total keywords ranking
By February 2026, the transformation was substantial:
| Position Range | Feb 2024 | Feb 2026 |
| Top 3 | 2 | 188 |
| 4–10 | 3 | 1,147 |
| 11–20 | 9 | 1,102 |
| 21–50 | 24 | 3,590 |
| 51–100 | 53 | 2,957 |
| AI Overviews | 0 | 509 |
| Other SERP Features | 6 | 1,920 |

The website also began appearing within Google’s AI Overview results for treatment-related searches, signalling strong topical authority and alignment with Google’s evolving AI-driven search ecosystem.

Organic traffic increased from 133 monthly visits to 13,779, achieved without reliance on paid advertising.
Business Impact
This growth translated into increased phone enquiries, stronger appointment bookings, and sustained local authority across both suburbs.
The website evolved from a digital brochure into a dual-location patient acquisition engine.
Complex structure is not a limitation. With commercial strategy, technical precision, and disciplined execution, one domain can dominate multiple competitive local markets.
Growth, when engineered properly, is not accidental.
It is built.
